Homeless Assistance Program

Algiers Charter believes that all students deserve the best possible education. We work with a variety of groups and organizations to eliminate educational barriers that homeless students may face. Under the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act, Algiers Charter works with eligible families to provide services such as:

  • Breakfast and lunch programs
  • Transportation services
  • Tutoring programs
  • ESL programs
  • After-school programs
  • Summer programs

Students and families who believe they may be eligible for services should contact the Algiers Charter’s homeless liaison, Duwanna Burse.
